    1990 405 SRi - Auckland.

DRTDVL I presume you are the same DRTDVL that had a 205 GT? I used to have a 309 SR and talked with you a bit on IRC a couple of years ago. Have had a 504 Ti since then and now the 405.

How do you find the S16 compared to the GT?

    Sorry dude don't really remember....

The s16 is about 400kg heavier than the gt and you can definatly tell in the gravel... lots more grip...

It's not as manic as the gt, but it's got more power and torque, so it's alot better up hills... over all acelleration wise the cars are about equal... i had the head ported, polished, planned, custom intake, and 2 1/4 inch exhaust on the gt... and the gt had a lower top speed...

The stearing felt more nimble, and it was a lot more twichy in the back end, you could get overstear a lot earlier and easier... (good and bad thing)...

overall once i do more work to the s16 it will be a much better car

I'd be keen... i'll have to make a special trip up north before hand just to make sure the car is in true character...

had it a perfect two tone - half dirt - half really really covered in dirt.... then all the rain cleaned it... and I misjudged the depth of some surface flooding and had water coming up over the arches, and up the windscreen a bit... really shouldn't of gone through it at 80... but that cleaned a lot of the car... hehe also got a warning from the police for not being able to see the rear brake lights (you could see the high mount mostly so he let me off with a warning), plate, or into the car...

Where would you all want to meet? Any one up for a nice enthusiastic drive?

I'm near Taupo at the moment!!

Hey, A blaze GTi6 was parked in our hotel carpark this morning. Had stupidly high profile tyres on it that made it look like a truck.

We've seen some weird Pugs since we have been here: a 405 hatchback, a 4 door 205 to name but 2.
The AWARD WINNING 1998 Blaze Yellow 306 GTi6

......and a Series 3 205GTi on the side.

    I don't think you would've seen a 405 hatchback, they don't exist (to my knowledge). Sure it wasn't a 309? We've got plenty here.

What colour is your 504 wagon?

May have seen it around I am in Ponsonby a bit.

Don't seem to be many 504s around in Auckland anymore, I sold my Ti last November.
