i have a gti-6 and have the point welded up where the engine mount bolts on.

i had mine done by autoparis in melbourne, but you might want to visit one of the peugeot preferred panel repairers in your local state. you can get these from the peugeot australia site

Cool, yeah, a mate of mine ( a peugeot mechanic ) is going to do the work for me, he was just wondering what mount it was that was getting damaged.

To answer the power issue, at the moment the car is ill. Its sluggish, and i need to find out why.

Before, when it was all running nice, it was a very quick car indeed. One day, when she is healthy again, Ill take it on a rolling road and get it checked

Deka had to have some work done on his engine mount about a year ago when it broke.

He might be who you're thinking about.

it's the top engine mount that can crack where it mounts to the body, or should i say the body cracks where the encased nut us for the engine mount

    it mainly effected XSi's

i'll be checking mine when i change the engine mount as i have a tear in the rubber part of the mount so while out it's a good time to see if there is any cracking in there

then i might get a battery for it

what a bad day in the XSi. 1st, i blew a 220watt Kenwood 6x9. Not good. So now i have 240watt JVC ones :-)

2nd. Took car to car wash, was in que, turned off engine, went to start... bleh. Flat battery. So i had to push it in, wash it, push it out, and bump start it!

    All fun in the froggyville...

It was me who broke the engine mount - at DECA Day in 2003...
Paul Vasallo repaired it for me - for only about $100 from memory.

    Hey mate,

Top engine mount broke in my GTi6 recently. Had it welded up by a fitter and machiner. Cost me $100. Did a fantastic job. No more annoying noises!

Holy shit! Wow! Please hang around this time!

Congrats on the good news too Deka (gossip goes round slowly, heh)

I broke my engine mount away from the body work in my 306 too. It was covered under warranty but had to go to a smash repairer to get fixed.
