    Gearbox Oil for 8/87 205GTi

    Hi,

I've had a huge amount of success in the past with an oil in gearboxes called Redline Oil (www.redlineoil.com)

Has anyone tried this oil in their frogs? or is the general word on the street that Syntrax is the way to go?

    thanks

i have herd that red line is good..
but we use only the fully syth factory spec elf or esso oil it seems to just bring them back to life, when they have had wrong oil in them, or it has never been changed.... we have even put it in a claped out 504 box and it made gear changes really good..
    regards paul.

    Paul,

Any idea what 'product code / model' in the elf / esso range is suggested?

I've got a Haynes book, but they seem to push products that arn't available in Australia.

    Thanks
    Justin
