Default 306 Clock - Outside Temp Question

Jumped in the car tonight to find that the clock has decided to start dancing to the music !!!!!

It's display is going mad, you get all the vertical lines on the display panel followed by the horizontal lines - maybe it's waving me goodbye - who knows.

Any ideas on what has broken this time ?

    Default 306 clock

When power is interrupted (say battery change or fuse problem) the radio needs a reset using its code. This resets the outside temperature read.
Failing that the other cause is a faulty wire in the loom going into the door (left side as temperature reader is in the exterior mirror on that door.
    Hope this helps

I have an after market Radio that doesn't require a code.

Could it be a blown fuse ?

So the Temp sensor is on the passenger door ?

Thanks Pugrambo - with Buzzlightyear kids fork in tow - reset the clock and the russians have gone.

Still leaves me wondering - what caused it to have a fit in the first place ?

the battery terminals can be a bit dicky at times and so it may have flicked off for a split second and reset the works

have you got the original screw type pug terminal on the positive side of the battery, the one that they have used since 203 days and they were no bloody good then ?

if so then you need to loosen it off and push it down hard on the terminal and give it a good hand tighten

    they work loose over time

why they still use them i don't know as they were no damn good back in the 50's either

I'll have a look tomorrow - 10:30pm here and 13 deg outside and the wifes taken over my side of the garage with "stuff" so the poor wee 306 is outside.
