    Default Mi16 Thermostat Housing gasket

    Hello All,
Can anyone tell me whether or not I need a gasket for my '92 Mi16 Thermostat housing? (where the housing bolts onto the head)
There was nothing there when I dismantled it and there doesn't appear to be a gasket listed as a part.
Its not difficult to make one up myself or will I just use Permatex gasket sealer or similar?

There is a rubber ring that should be around the outside edge of the thermostat, this seals the water from escaping out through the side of the housing.

I didn't mean the gasket round the thermostat itself - I meant the gasket from the main cast aluminium housing onto the head.

I've done 5 of these heads now. Most of them had the remnants of some sort of gaskets, but since I've done them, those motors have probably done over a million combined kilometres on Loctite 515. Works a treat. I never even bothered to find the correct gasket for it.
