    Default 207

Anyone have any information on a 207? 206 has been around for a while now and a high performance version (read gti180) usually signals only a year or so left for the model... surely its getting to that time?

The price of the 206 is keen, but I just can not fit!

From what I have read, the new GTi pug will be the 107. Looks like a turd on wheels from memory. I dunno what's going on over there in France, their designers are obviously getting better drugs than the ones here.

Like the 205 GTi signaled the end of its model life?

SLC206 thanks for that informative response. 205GTi was like the 206 gti (albeit probably more of a god).. sports version of the standard car... it got beat by the Mazda Astina SP back in early 1990 in MOTOR so I wouldnt call it "high performance" (runs and ducks for cover ). 0-100 in what, high 8s early 9s although good for its day was same as Rolla SX, Astina SP, Lancer GSR, Alfa 33 etc. Handling may be another story though.

High-po versions come in generally at least half way through a models life cycle... its smart marketing. Initial sales boom from excitement, start tapering off, and then the hi-po version sparks the excitement again.... think E36 M3R, E46 M3 CSL, RCS Cup, Astra Turbo, Porsche GT1/2/3 models et al. GTI180 has been around for what, a year and a half in Oz now/ longer in Euro?

Anyway, back to the point - GTi's aside, does anyone have any info on any 207? 107 would be smaller yea, ie 106 replacement?!? If not, then I guess its at least a year or two off......

There have been a few threads before with preview pics so search the site for 207. Looks like a cross between a 206 and a 307 with the new corporate nose (or is that snout).
    unfrogged (for now)
