    Default Help locating a Gtech!

    Hey Guys,

Ive recently purchased a 180, and it ROCKS. Im absolutelly in love with it. After driving it around for a few weeks, i have been interested in knowing the car's actual performance at a certain point in time, which got me thinking and looking, in which i found a gtech unit. Im currently looking to purchase a 2001 model or the current 2004 model but dont know where the cheapest or best place would be to get it. Im willing to import from overseas if its significantly cheaper... can anyone help? If the gtech it too expensive does anyone know of a similar devise that will perform the same calculations?

Autospeed can supply them. I'm not sure if you would classify it as a great deal though. I've bought an AC22 from them a few years back. Not bad but a bit expensive.

For the best deals I reckon eBay would be the go.

WOW, is rather pricey... perhaps someone has a second hand unit that they are not wanting anymore in which they would be kind enough to sell to me?
OR does anyone know of a similar product that will perform the same tasks for a cheaper more reasonable price?

They are available new on ebay by the dozen. Generally you get them for $50 - $80. My new bottom of the range one does 0-60, 1/4 mile time and speed over line, cornering Gs, 60-0 braking distance, HP.

Just type in GT into the car accessories search area of ebay.

Alan moore, is that the 1994 model you are referring to or the 2001/2004 model which you have seen for $50-$80?

Dude, i dont know too much about them, but i know enough to know that ebay would be the cheapest option, unless its 2nd hand.

Im not sure what car you are running, but i know apexi make a similar thing, but i doubt it would work on frenchies. The Apexi variant i think is cheaper & looks good.

The 94 model would not be able to be hooked up to a computer

I don't know about my Gtech being a '94 model. It is brand new and works fine but is not the type that will download onto a laptop. There is an upgraded unit, but it did not seem to be of much advantage for the many extra dollars. Did you do the search of ebay under gtech. As I said available new for under $80, you might happen to jag one for $20,as there are two pages of them, the same as in the ad above for $300.

Are these GTechs any good really, or are they just a toy? Is the information they put out of any relevance and accuracy?

After reading this thread I decided to look at ebay. There are quite a few of them, especially the '94, and at good prices. But are they worth it?

    Thanks

    Matt
