    206 with 18"

hi guys, does anyone has an idea whether or not an 18" wheels will fit on 206? if it does, will it keeps on hitting the inner guard? i'm using 17" at the moment, sometimes it hits the inner guard when i'm driving on rough edges. some friends who drove non-pug cars did "rolling" to their inner guard and said it somehow solves the problem. and also, any ideas about the right offset that i should get for the wheels so that they won't be sticking out from the guard? thanks guys

Ok,.... read common faults about rolling 206 guards, my best mate and his gti learnt the hard way.....
He rides on 18's and lowered too, look in the Gallary section here, as xzibit. Very nice, and its even better since those photos.
As for inner guards not much scrubage, but he solved by totally removing the inner plastics-done.
His 18's are on special adaptors to keep the offset balanced etc. Cheers - Chris

i heard taking the inner plastic off might cause some "noise" to the car, since the inner plastic adsorbs the noise produced?, how true is that assumption????

35's... that doesn't eman a great deal if you running something like a 265( which you wont). 35 is a % of the tyre width and varies depending on the track size.

    but i'd suggest a 205 or 215/30 or 205/35

Standard for the 16" rims is 205/45R16 .. be careful with your speed when messing around with tyres ...

He is running 18x8 Lenso wheels, he removed the inner plastic guards, but the car is not noticably noisier, cos the exhaust drones everything out....lol. However he admits to covering certains areas with platic and cable ties to stop too much water ending up on the cables.
Tyre size is 215/35/18, and ORD is 0.8cm off the original wheel, but this is measured new tyre to new tyre, as ORD of tyre changes as it wears.
The adaptors are there because Lanso don make a 18x8 with correct off-set, so we used the adaptors (custom spun at $300 per side)to balance out the offset diference and keep it fitting nicely, its a neat ricy machine that is looking really good. - cheers chris

ps Julian, i got a MAX issue with arguably the hottest wide-body Xsara on 19's... no rice just class.
