    306 s16 specs?

I am a proud new owner of a 1995 306 s16 and a new member to this site. I am looking at doing some tuning yet i am unable to find the tech specs of the engine in order to "test dyno" using Desktop Dyno 2000 before any mods are made. I was wondering why these could be found?

It states 111kW on Redbook, but no revs. Are you after a Dyno chart, or more physical specs on the engine components? What can desktop dyno do? sorry I can't be more helpful, I'm sure there are many more who can. Is the software expensive?

    Chris.

Yeah, with power I have heard everything from 110kw to 116kw for the same car.

    I like 116 personally. whistle

Let me know how you go. S16 owners, although getting more frequent here, still are a rare breen and those who mod even rarer. Xq has done heaps of mods to his S16. Mine has been lowered and has the factory Remus back box and a pod filter, thats about it though, but still a rocket.

Supposedly there were less than a hundred S16's sold in Australia (think the exact figure was 98). Bought mine brand new and I've now just started to mod it. Mainly to prolong the life of the car as it's done over 200,000km. I'm hoping for around 200hp but won't be fussed if I don't get there, they're quick as is and still to this day as fun to drive as the first time I took a white S16 out for a test drive. Took a right angle corner at 60km/h and haven't looked at another car since.

Yes, the S16 is fabulous around corners!
I am looking at modding mine in the near future. When I win the lotto.

Peak power is no problem to find, what i'am looking for is: Valve Timing, Full camshaft specs, Bore/Stroke measurments and induction flow rates etc. All very hard to find.

I'am planning on a big project on this baby so i want to do a full dyno simulation before any major mods are made.

I'm looking to mod but only a strut brace, air intake/exhaust and maybie later the brakes. The handling is obviously it's strong suit. Every time i take someone for a spin they can't believe how fast i can take corners and roundabouts.

I have the original sales brouchre which claims 116 kw at 6500rpm and 193nm at 3500rpm.

Where did you find out that there was only 98 in Oz, wounder how many are left

I've got the car mag at work somewhere... they did a write up on the S16 as a long term test and blurted that there was only 98 of them in Australia. I'll see if I can dig it up and scan it.

Im was told at several service centers that there was only ever 85 delivered, around, oz. Perhaps thats the excuse they use to charge how they often over-do...lol.
I used to have a dyno chart of my car but it was several years ago and lost it... doh.
Im doing more mods now, so my fisrt thing is to have it dyno'd on the AZENIS to get a baseline reading which i can use to compare with.. im expecting 85-90Kw at the wheels, any more is abonus, im aming for 190-200Bhp or ruffly 110-115w at wheels at most. cheers Xq

ps but to answer the post, no idea

Here is a scan of the dyno run I did not long ago. No new mods, running on BP Ultimate.

    <img src="http://home.iprimus.com.au/bwjones/pictures/dyno.jpg" alt=" - " />

The lull in the middle is at 5,000rpm. This needs some attention I think to flatten out the torque curve.
