I have previously owned a 405s which,while braking in reverse, the rear brakes hummed.
I have recently updated to a 406sv which to my surprise does the same thing.
My Mechanic, at City Peugeot, says it's a Peugeot thing so i thought i'll go through the net to see if anybody alse has had the same problem and surprise not a mention.
Can somebody help me with this annoying sound.
Is it a "Peugeot thing" or is there more to the noise.

It sounds like a suspension bushing issue to me, though I guess it could be back plate resonance or some some such too. 504 sedan brakes (or , at least, the ones I have driven) can be a bit noisy in reverse. Maybe it really is a Peugeot thing?

How much time do you spend driving in reverse ?
The previous reply seems on the nose.
As long as they are working, and there is nothing loose or potentially dangerous, learn to love the noise as a wonderful characteristic of your'e pug !
