205 in Classic Rally with pics..

    Hi guys,

Well we had a lot of fun doing the Perth Classic Rally last weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun) - great event with lots of different driving events and navigation stages. I was happy with our performance overall and the car went well (new Koni suspension) but just need more power for the open-road sprints if we're going to get up to the real pointy end again

Anyway, pics of our 205 are here, several of which show the rear wheel in the air (as usual).

For those of you that like 306's, here is Lesley's 306 Maxi that was part of our team: <a href="http://gerrygibbs.onpix.com/viewAlbumPro.asp?alb=2228&PLid=306" target="_blank">PICS OF 306 MAXI</a>

    AWESOME.

Was it just a day rally? How much experience do you need to compete in them? What sort of costs are we talking about?

Re the rollcage you mentioned elsewhere here.
Apart from providing proper seatbelt mounting points I feel so much safer in my otherwise stock weekend racer. I lost a about 0.5 sec at Wakefield with added weight and my exhaust modification budget went into the cage, but pffft. I feel so much better inside my car now. DO IT.

    Thanks guys,

Tekkie, it is a 3 day rally with one overnight stay on the first night, during which people in the navigation class do a night navigation.

More info on the rally is <a href="http://www.classicrally.com.au/classic_rally.htm" target="_blank">HERE</a>

We had Garth Tander as the driver of honour in Brocky's Monaro and he was awesome to watch in terms of raw, natural car-control talent. Very nice, approachable guy as well.

    Cheers

    It looks like awesome fun.

Both cars look fantastic, and I'd imagine went fairly well.

The number of people competing in motorsport on here is great. Using our cars for what they are best at.
