    504 Wiring Diagram

    Hi all,

Just got back from two weeks holiday at Lake Conjola (near Ulladulla). The 504 went very well apart from an electrical problem that saw the alternator over charge the battery at 15+V requiring a new battery. The charging circuit then died a bit before Gundagai on the way home. We drove back to Wodonga running on the battery (which I've probably stuffed!) with everything else turned off, couldn't even use the blinkers. Battery voltage at home was about 6.9V!

The autoelec at Ulladulla checked the reg and the alternator and they were good. Connecting a wire from the D+ on the reg to the battery brought the charging voltage down to about 14.2V where it should be.

Does any one have a wiring diagram for a July '77 504 GL sedan (shown in Member's Gallery under Ralph) or know where I can get one? I have the Haynes manual for this car but the wiring diagrams are pretty useless. I looked at it for ages and couldn't figure them out! Maybe I'm just stupid.

If some one has a scan of a decent one or knows of an internet site that deals with them I would be very appreciative if youd either email me or point me in the right direction.

    Cheers,

    Ralph,
I have a "Powerpoint" presentation of the 504 wiring diagram, broken down into the various sub systems. This was done by a bored workmate!
I can email to all interested people.
