I don't know why you'd need to roll them unless you're tyres were very wide, or you had the wrong offset on your wheels. I'd get the offset checked out.

    How low is your car?

But on the subject of rolling your guards, you can do it yourself if you like, or take it to a panel beater that will do it for you. You''re looking at about $25 per guard, depending where you get it done. Some suspension/tyre fitting places also do it.

There is a BIG size diff with these tyres - up to 10% ... not good.

I think with the 306 you can make *anything* scrape if you try.

I'll just say this. After the Melbourne drive, I took off the back wheels. There were huge rub marks on the plastic guard lining. I know they weren't there before the drive. I guess it all depends how fast you are cornering. That had 175/65R14's on it (I think)

I get the feeling from this thread that you shouldn't go wider than 195 though?

    Huh?

205/50 15 is much more popular than any of the sizes you suggested, and are bang on the rolling diameter of 195/55 15 and similar to 185/65 14 as well.

Yeh Im running 205/45/16 but diffnetly will not go any wider there is only about 4mm clearance from the tyre to the bump stop to the right of tyre's on the back, the front has heaps of room.

But i think my prob is that the negative camber is making run on the inside wall of the tyre, which is only a problem with a full load so from now on 3 max in the car.

I got my front guards rolled bout 6 months ago.

I have 17" rims with 205/40/ZR17 tyres and i USED to not rub the rear. I had lowered the rear alot too. I once had 3 ppl in the back 1 in the front and 1 in the boot and i still dont think it rubbed???

It was pretty funny i though the car was gonna fall apart

Now with my GTi6 rear end i Rub the rears when i go over bumps It suks i havent had anyone in back nor do i want to.....ASAP i will go get the rear rolled/lipped to remedy the problem

I can't advise, sorry. You have to watch the roll job though .. seen panels end up with creases because someone didn't know what they were doing ... not pretty.

Coming to the Inaugural WA AussieFrog cruise Steve ? Don't tell me you missed all the advertising

Thanks for the warning, I knew there is a chance of creasing I was going to check out the standard of work before considering, as I rarely carry four in the Pug anyway

If you were in Mebourne i could tell u the place i got mine done.

The guy that did mine actually patented the machine that does guard rolling. He did a very good job i got my springs reset and guards rolled(for the front) for $220
