Question re 205 vs Mi16 gearboxes

Hi guys, well we started what we thought was a simple job (are there any? ) to fix a worn engine mount in the 205 Mi16 but it looks like the gearbox mounts are not standard.

As far as I'm aware the gearbox installed is the BX16v (Mi16) gearbox - are there any differences externally between this gearbox and the original GTi gearbox eg mounting points or gearbox mounts that would require something different or are they externally identical?

I guess another way of looking at this is If we need new gearbox mounts, which ones do we need to purchase?

I take it you're talking about the mount under the battery? I thought they were all the same, except for one casing which I've seen, which has two mounting holes. Persumably for Pug or Cit.

Just an update - we replaced the engine/gearbox mount with a rally-spec one off a Mitsubishi Evo and boy oh boy what a difference.

Before, it honestly felt like the engine was going to fall out and it must have been getting steadily worse. It now feels rock solid and the whole car - gearchange and power to the ground feels 100% better.

I had it out on the track on Saturday in the wet and it felt like a new car
