    rear wheel goes squeak

For about a week now one of my rear wheels has developed a squeak, which naturally speeds up the faster you go etc. It also seems to get louder when braking (and if it temporarily went away, it will come back when you use the brakes or go around a corner). Is driving me insane and is a little embrassasing too in busy car parks.

Is there any simple (read quick) way to find out what it actually is? I'm hoping it isn't the brakes as I had the rear calipers rebuilt a few months ago. What else is back there that could squeak? At the moment it sounds like I'm killing a mouse with every revolution of the wheel.

Sounds like the brakes to me.... take it back to who done it and ask for a "WORTH" treatment to be used to stop the squeek... good luck-chris

Sounds to me that it might be one of the handbrake shoes touching the drum.

    Cheers

silly question i know but is everything clean in there ????
grab some disc cleaner and clean all the dust and crap out
you may find it's some dust or crud in there as the disc have a slight warp in them to clear the pads from them when they are not in use

    Nick,

Check your rear wheel bearings for play. Also check the screws which hold the hub on. The allen head for these 4 screws are accessed through the hole in the hub. You have to turn the hub around to use that one hole to get to each of the 4 screws.
