The 307 (pictured) gains $1000 in accessories free -- including six airbags, anti-lock brakes, climate control, CD player and power windows and mirrors -- while the 407 gets an extra two years' warranty.
    Drive stuffs up again!

    407, bah!

It also confirms the 307SW is coming!

Peugeot plans to supply about 160 cars for officials in the World Cup, which starts early October, including 607s and 307 variants (the SW -- to be called ST, or Sports Touring, here -- and XS, XSE and XSi).

Except in the UK they are advertising a 1000 pound saving, don't know the specifics, but it sounds better !.

If you buy the 307 with the right options you can probably snare 1000 pounds off here

Cars in the UK are most expensive than on the continent in general (especially once you remove taxes), but they do have some great offers there. Citroens are great value because the list price means nothing, there are so many cashback offers that you can get the cars quite cheaply.

Then there are cars in the USA. I think it's obscene that for the price of a S60 2.4 SE, you can get a S60R in the USA (sorry, no Frogs in the USA for a comparison). Say what you like about the Americans, but they do get some great deals over there and the information given to consumers about cars is superior to here (we won't worry about politics, that's another question).

The information we have here in regards to discounting here is pitiful compared to there.

    They are indeed.

I'd imagine the options you'd gain would be alloys, a few mats and maybe headlamp/bonnet protectors? $1k of options isn't really that much.

1k won't even get you alloys.

Mats and headlight/bonnet protectors you get for free anyway.

BTW, the above is in reference to haggling - of course they have their "official RRP"

$1000 worth of accessories isn't that generous, considering that there's a good deal of fat in the prices of accessories.
