Default Advice on importing a 504CC

Now, I know this is not one of my better ideas, and I also know that nothing will probably come of it, but having had a fabulous day at the RACV Rally in Melbourne today, all those dreams of getting a 504 sedan or cabriolet are churning around again.
I want to know if anyone has any hints or advice on importing a car like this.
    Thanks

sedans are easy enough to get

cab's are a little harder and finding one rust free will be the biggest issue

there is a bloke in Sydney that does the occasional import and rebuilds and sells them for around $40k from what i have heard

lot of money but it just depends on how serious you are in getting one

I was thinking more of trying to import it myself. We're lucky enough to be visiting relatives in Europe this year, and I wanted to visit a guy who has a yard full of sedans and cabrios in Belgium. I need to see what kind of condition you can get in a car that costs 4000 euro versus 11000.
I am not sure about things like whether it would have to be a right hand drive, or if it's more than 30 years old then it's OK if it's LHD, but then is it able to be fully registered in Victoria...
And if anyone has any idea on the taxes involved???
    Thanks

Rust would be the main problem but many people do look after their cars.
It is about $2500 from Fremantle to UK in 20' container but I think it is another $900 to Melbourne. TRy Australian VanLInes for a quote.

Duty is 10% I think but Customs will tell you.

It would pay to bring back as much mechanicals as you can which would help offset your cost. EG You can get 20 XJ6 Jag mechanicals and doors etc into 20' seatainer.
