    Default Birrell Motors

    hey guys,

Birrell Motors are in Surrey Hills. They claim to be specialists in Peugeot and Renault.

my dad was there today on business, and was talking to man in charge and dad said he seemed to know what he was on about and be a top bloke.

anyone had experience with them? recommend them?

All i know is that they tried to sell me a really average 91 405 SRI last year for over 9k. (this was apparently a good deal...)

They did seem to be nice enough people though.

I'll second that one. They tried to sell me really bad condition 405's and 205's and even tried to convince me that the std 405 sri is that same as the Mi16 except that it didn't have steel wheels. I laughed and walked away

DOn't know about their servicing but if their sales is anything to go by then I would say "RUN AWAY"!!!!

I have had direct experience with both aspects...sales and service and I don't have a bad word to say about either!
I bought my current Fuego there and I was dealt with fairly and honestly....yeah, I could have bought it $100 cheaper through a wreckers, but they're entitled to make some profit!...and I knew that if anything went wrong, that they'd do the right thing by me (unlike a wreckers prob.)
Neil (le fix) serviced my first fuego for a couple of years (until dad learn't his way around it) and I can highly recomend his work....helpful, affordable, knowledgeable....in fact he saved me thousands of $ by knowing his stuff!
If you live over the other side of town, I can also recomend French connection in airport west. I would feel highly confident having my vehicle serviced at either establishment!

    Hey Paul,
I live just nearby and often drop in to see what they've got. The guys there are good blokes - but I can't comment on their business as I've never bought a car from them. They are your typical used car salesmen and seem to talk things up a bit. Neil is really good and certainly knows his stuff (he owns an Mi16 too), not expensive at all. We've often got bits and pieces from him for very low prices.

    hey jon.
yeah, he mentioned to dad that they have lots of 405 parts down there. the fix it man has an Mi16? sounds like he would have no problems working on my car then.

info gathered - cheap parts and knowledgable.

    cheers.

Ha ha, I drive past them on a fairly regular basis and they seem to always have a 405 or a base model 306 or two on the yard. Never seen a 205 there though.

There is another dealership on the cnr of Warrigal and Canterbury Rd (dunno their name) but they seem to get some mint 406 coupes there.
