    Default 205 T16 NZ Targa

    Hello all,
Turned the TV on Sunday afternoon extremely hungover and started to watch the New Zealand Targa Rally. To my great delight there was a white 205 T16 racing. Fantastic to see owners of these awsome cars having to balls to throw them around the countryside. Unfortunately the car suffered a few mechanical problems (turbo and suspension) and didn't finish. It would have placed in the top ten if it had finished the race. Not bad when it is up against Porsche GT3's and Evo VIII's.
Did anyone else watch it? The owner said he will be back next year.
    Can't wait.

That car has done a number of Targa NZ events, I think this latest event was the first it has finished, lots of gearbox problems. But as you say very fast when it is going.

My understanding is it has now been sold overseas, not sure where.

It says 106% on the roof of the car so looks like it is.

It was on Channel 10 last Sunday at about 2pm. The East Coast Targa was on the weekend before. I think the 106% was a sponser it was definately a 205 T16 shame about all the problems and not finishing.

The owner of the car said they were notorious for being unreliable even in Group B rally races. He even said Peugeot had a helicopter that would have spare diffs, gearbox ect following the car through the course if it needed the spares!

...."your a pack of ars#holes!" remind you of anyone in particular , that black pug in the pic is a S1 106 Ralley, the 205T16 in question is white. All group B's (lancia, Fiat, Audi, Pugs etc) had their reliability issues at one point or another, but the 206T16's were reliable enough to win back to back world championships!

Here Targa NZ was only on Tasmanian Digital Television and I don'ty have a digital set. They also seem to get all the WRC and anything really tasty. All I get to watch is Speedweek on SBS most of the time.
