    Hi froggy forum,
its been a while since I was last on line as the restoration has been on hold for a while. The car is now driveable, albeit sitting on a car fridge.
My latest problem is that with removal of the paint proceeding I find that a previous owner has 'lost' the plates that support a roof rack and just filled the holes - not very satisfactory.
My problem now is to source some replacement plates. I am not even sure if they should be chrome or body colour.
In addition the car had some fairly ugly after market flasher repeater lamps on the 'B' panel and I wondered if I could also source a couple of the original lamps in reasonable condition.

Hoping that someone out there can help.
    Regards
    Don Macdonald

Phil Whitton has just posted that he's stripping a 404 sedan... the mounts are the same as 403 (and 203)... try him.

they are body coloured originally but would you believe they are actually brass

just remember when they aren't in use to place a grub screw in each of them to stop dirt and crap building up in them

saves trying to clean them out later when and if you want to use them

they did originally some with the grub screws in them

    Default plates

    Hello out there.
Due to a "slight" accident in the workshop I have been off the air following surgery to the tendon in my hand. I'm typing this one handed so read slowly to catch up...................
Yes the plates are available, I have several, some still on the car.
    Whats your post address?

    Bon chance.
    Phil

    Hi Phil,
thanks for the reply. I really do appreciate being able to get some original plates, as I was contemplating having to make up something to cover the holes.
    My address is:

Thanks again, but you didn't say how much you want for them. Let me know when you send them and I'll send you a money order.

    Regards
