Early 504 Strut inserts?

Does anybody know if there are any manufacturers of early 504 strut inserts other than Monroe?

Just wondering because I'm about to offload a few sets of late 504 struts, but I may keep some if it looks like my mate may not be able to get any inserts for his early struts in a few years time.

Don't LIP do them?

I think Shobbz got them, and was happy with them. You might find something in a thread he's started somewhere.

I'm not chucking them. One or two pairs are sort of spoken for, but I may decide to get ride of more than that (since my 505 and the 504 which I'm going to build will use the later -ve camber type struts).

Two pairs have inserts which were OK when they were last used, one with internal hex at the top (probably Alinquant or some other Euro brand) and another with an external hex at the top (possibly sachs or LIP?). I have to talk to the bloke(s) that want them to see if they want these ones.

All the others are in various states of dissassembly (I've pulled what few Pug internals I have out and have put them aside for later use in my hot 504).

I'll check them out more in the next couple of days and let you know what I have which may be of use to you.

Does anybody want a pair of positive camber struts with the later type ball joint. I have 1 pair. I think these were only used for about 18 months in Australia (from about late 82 to about early 84 on 505 models), although they may have been used for longer, overseas, in late models of the 504 such as the pickups, etc.

If you mean the pair with the later type ball joint, they're from a 505 and will need late type imported 504 track control arms (83 onwards?) to fit them to a 504 (unless some of the 83 wagons had those arms).
