    Default Mi16 Tappet and cam cover problems :(

    Just the other day i realised that i have a tappet noise! Since Mi's use hydro lifters, does this mean that i have a serious problem? Also i have noticed a bump on the top of my cam cover over the drivers side most piston (1 i think). Seems no loss in power or fuel efficiency that i can tell. From memory that bump has been there alot longer than my tappet noise

    The bumps are quite common but tappet noise isn't. You should investigate the cause before you get serious cam lobe and bucket wear.

    Aren't the bumps just the paint bubbling?

    Yeah, it's where the paint bubbles through the heat of the frayed bits of the cambelt hitting it.
