    Problems with my Mi16

My Mi16 has died. I recently had a new coil and ignition amplifier fitted plus cam belt and tune up. The car goes fast but stops at times when driving. It starts again immediately until the next time it decides to stop. I am now advised that the Bosch motronic control unit is faulty and the car now does not even start. Has any members had similar problems or any advice.

Yeah I've had the same problem with mine before. Does a red circular light come on with a engine symbol in the centre. When I bought my car the previous owner/mechanic siliconed over the drain hole in the ECU. So water got in a destroyed the inards. I bought a new ECU (expensive as it was) and the problem stopped. approve

Yeah, it's dead. My mechanic managed to send mine away to be repaired for a fraction of the cost of a new one though, ask about that.

Although now my car idles a little high (~1000-1400rpms) until the engine fan switches on. Weird.
