    Default Running Xbox?

This is one for all the electrically minded.

What do I need to get an xbox running in a vehicle, not necessarily my pug, but if it doesnt drain to much juice I might. I have a cruiser also with dual batteries, and would also like to apply it to a boat situation that has dual batteries.

Would I need some type of inverter? And if so is this safe? Do I need to get an auto electrician to recable the wiring to thicker guage?

    Any ideas appreciated.

you would be looking at getting an inverter. Jaycar stocks things like that, and you can get some to suit your cars cigarete lighter plug, or that plug up to your battery with decent wattage that will only set you back about $200-$300...

with the right plugs (you may have to buy them), you could just plug it into an in car LCD which jaycar also sells...

    here's a couple as example

you shouldn't need to do any mods to your xbox, just make sure you have a heavy duty batery and don't leave it on to long whilst your car isn't runing, or you may end up with dead cells in your battery

Some electrical equipment doesn't like the cheaper inverters which are a Square wave output. Best to go with a Sine wave output but you will pay a little more.
