    Default Mi16 - what's this sensor?

    Hi there,

What's the big sensor (or whatever) on the middle of the back of the block of the series one, with a rubber boot over it, connected to the loom. It's angled downwards and seems to have a channel cast into the block. Just for interests' sake...

    Thanks

    Stuey

    Sounds like oil level.

Thanks Peter; that's what I thought it was. Any idea how it works?

They usually don't; well not that well anyway.
I must get under mine and chop & replace the wires as mine are as hard as rocks on all the wires to these various sensors around the engine.

If it ain't broke, use a 12" shifter.....that usually does the trick!!

Mine works as it should, but as you suggest I'm not sure if it's accurate. I was wondering how it worked as i can't imagine it having a float arrangement in oil. Maybe it has...?
