Calling all 505 sedan owners!
Friend of mine asked me how to get the rear seats out (top of seat backs need retrimming) and I have to confess ignorance on the subject.
Can someone give me the short version to pass on to him?

Remove the seat cushion first. Push inwards at the bottom edge at about a position in line with the centre of the front seat uprights. This releases the lower portion of the cushion, which is engaged in a recess under mild tension. Raise the front of the cushion, and remove this cushion from the vehicle.
This now allows access to the lower portion of the seat back section. Push upwards from the bottom edges. Sometimes mild pressure against the top edges during this process can assist in releasing the back cushion. Also, folding down the centre arm rest can improve the grip needed to raise the rear cushion. Remove the back cushion.
Make a mental note of the method of attachment for each part of the seat removal. Obviously, replacement is the reverse of the above procedures.
Cheers,
Kim.
i have no idea on 505's but 504's and 604's have little metal tabs that are bent over parts of the seat frames to hold the backs in position whilst the top is located on a ledge
when putting the backs in you place the backs over the ledge and push down and then bend the metal tabs back through the hoops in the seat frame then place the bottom of the seat back in place
Thanks mate :cheers:Quote:
