    Icon10 "Twister" air filter - 206 GTI 180

I have just recieved my "Green Twister" air-filter induction kit.
This is a purpose built kit manufactured by Green for the 180 or RC
    It has the:-
Green Twister filter in a stainless sealed air-box
90deg stainless mandrel pipe with turbo silicone hose
    flex inlet hose
    mounting strap
    all hose clamps
If anyone is interested they are $550.00 and take about 2 weeks to get
I will try to fit it this weekend.....keep you up to date

    Sounds great.
Just a quick question what made you choose that airfilter over others.

sorry.....DID YOU SAY $550.....you are serious...

You do realise (sorry to say)....that you could build the same kit (if not better) for less them half that price (and have change for a cheap bx of e-bay-well 2 late now but you get my drift)......I m sorry...but $550 is way overboard considering all the components you need could easily be bought from most aftermarket car parts suppliers....yes everything......
Choice of filters (colours, finishes, brands etc)...
    Piping...chromeplated...anodised.....etc...mandrel bend...adapters...enclosures....etc etc
sillicone hoses, clamps.....just pick a colour.....

$550 is a lot of money for a product thats probably had as much R&D time put into it as it took me to type this reply......for havensakes people...get a measuring tape....make sense out of factory induction and if you think you can do better (possibly/possibly not) visit the right shops and save a lot of money.....

    cheers

    dino

not trying to be bastard...just trying tro make sense out of the $550 cost....

and the above is only a small percantage available......ideally.....you select the right kit...and buy all the components necesarry seperatelly (if need be).....so, complete kit should not cost much more than $250

    then there is this:

This is a mod for the 138 - but the principles apply the same to the 180. http://206gti.net/intakemod/ Paul who did the testing tried several different types of intake kit (including the K&N 57i) and worked out that this mod worked just as well and cost about $10 - apart from the K&N panel filter.

I've got it fitted to my car but I'd be lying if it made much difference apart from a bit of noise
