rims for 205's

Haven't posted for a while...been dirving my 89' 205 gti. Ever since i bought this car a few months ago i have never looked back. I love these cars, always have and this has now justified why i love them. Before i saw myself as a conservative driver with a bit of a lead foot...now i'm just a hoon! If anyone sees a silver 205 scream by in gladesville/drummoyne with jamiroquai blaring...that's me! head_ban

whoops, hit the wrong button and it posted half my topic!

I want to find out what factory rims will fit on my 205's offset. Being 108 x 4.
Being an 89' it has the original aussie spec wheels. the 14" 185 x 60's.
Of coarse i want the series 3 15" 190 x 40's.
But as they are very rare i'm looking to find other factories that will fit. Mainly those sexy 16" 206 gti's...but will 16"ers fit without being illegal??? I haven't lowered her!
Also if the do fit will i need a suspension upgrade and the speedo gear changed?

Look for 306 XSI rims, or 406 rims.

some SAAB rims will also fit not to mention Cit XSARA rims. (ie PCD and offset are the same)

Your tyres I guess would have to be 185/55 or so.

There are a few cars in the UK running the 206 GTI 16's. I'm not sure if they require spacers or not. I have a set on my 405, and they are fine. Look awesome on 205's.

I put those sexy 206 GTI rims on mine and found that (because it's lowered) the tire rubs on the trailing arm so if u're gonna get those be prepared 2 buy 10 mill spacers to push the wheel out a bit.

Are these the 9 spokers?
also ho far have you lowered yours? because if there is minor dramas with yours then i could just lower mine less...if not at all.
If they are the 9 spokers then how did you come by them... A peugeot dealer perhaps?

Yeah that's the one..
I put Eibach springs up front and it came down just under 3 inches and the back is a torsion bar which was adjusted to match the front.
The wheels are called "Oregon" and I got 'em from Regan Pug here in Melbourne.
The improvement over the stock springs is amazing especially around corners and the wheels/tyres are asthetically better than the 15's.
Do it man... u'll love it.

there is a bloke on 205GTIdrivers.com that has those rims and i'm trying to contact him to see if he used spacers...If you are interested to see go to <a href="http://www.205gtidrivers.com" target="_blank">www.205gtidrivers.com</a> and he is in the "Drivers'cars" section by the name of Eric yellow (under peugeot 205 Turbo).
I might do the same ...sorry to copy the idea but i'm surprised that only a few people have done it.

You will need spacers for the 206gti wheels. I too spoke to a bloke in the UK who has them on his car and the spacers are required.

from pug dealer approx $1550 and yes u do need 10mm spacers but be very careful of the size tyres
you put on. They look tops on a 205.

Emailed Eric a while ago regarding the wheels if you use 406 wheels as he has you do not need spacers, although he has added spacer as it looks better.
These wheels look excellent but for the price you could get some really nice after market ones. On the Aussie Peugeot site they are listed at $412 each.
