    Default Changing wheels on Mi16

Now everyone has got me thinking about 206 GTI 16's.
Can anybody tell me the width of the wheels? How/if it will affect the handling of my Mi? What size tyre would be best suited? And any info on lowering the car (just a little), mainly to do with the effects on handling, stability and ride.

Got them on mine. Sharper turn in and a bit more stability. Think they are 7" wide. I have 205/45/16 Goodyear Eagle F1's. I have Eibach front springs which lower the front slightly. I have Pug front shocks and Koni yellows on the rear. Didn't lower the rear as I tow trailers sometimes. The handling is much improved on standard.

I'll second that one. Handles better now although I haven't lowered the front yet. I think the best improvement has been going back to Eagle FI's. I had them when I had the 14's and they are just amazing.

where did you get the eibach's? how much where they? Did they make the ride a lot stiffer?
I have been told by so many people that no-one makes springs for them and I would have t have custom made!

I bought them off a mate of mine who ran them on his Targa Mi16 once and went to coilovers. They are available. The ride is firm, but not what I would call stiff.
