    Amir,
The same problems exist in Australia with the expensive and rare tyre size.
I think most 604 owners have either retained the 14'' steel rims or have tried to obtain the OE Dunlop alloy 14" wheels.

The metric alloy wheels, as in your pics, are only good for making a garden hose reel!

On the lookout to buy a good running and registered 604 in vic, may even look toward the NSW border if the price is right!

We have a 604 that's in need of serious restoration and also the chassis of another 604 that's sitting outside (Literally is a chassis, no remaining parts on it whatsoever). On top of that, we have a stack of 604 parts and 4 engines.

So, you can cross 6 of the 800 x 604's off the register....

I've also seen a gold 604 parked at Autobarn in Pakenham, Vic several times. Fiancee asked in the shop one time but nobody knew of any employees with a Poo-Joe.

So, hopefully somebody is selling a road going 604

    Cheers guys,

Building or restoring? (The first sounds cheaper than the second ) Either way, there are 3 anxious people in this family that each want to own their own 604 - Dad, Mum and myself.... you'd have no worries unloading a 'couple' of 604's at all.

Anyway, very interested. Please be sure to let me know if anything comes of this.

Not sure if you have ever seen them in Oz, but I know of a guy in Auckland that has TWO 604GTi's!! One going, one for parts I think. And another that has a five speed and a four-speed 604 box lying around, but at last count I think he wanted to be buried with it!!! Pity, would have been nice in the 504...

Umm, it would want to have 800KM on the clock at that price

Pugrambo, what models are the 2 604s that you're planning to build up?

seeing as the last 604's sold here were 81 models we missed out on the GTi 604's

they are damn nice cars but we can only dream

the one that was up for sale is an auto and is still kind off available i would say

the 2 i am getting i think 1 is a series 1 or it may a series 2 and the other one id definately a series 2

i must insist on when they are finished that they go to a good home and stay on the road and not parted out not that i think anyone would do this to a good road going 604 but i with my interest in getting the register happening i am trying to ensure the 604 stays alive in this country

when they arrive i'll take some pics and also put progress reports up as well

both of them are rust free which is a damn good start

who knows after i do these 2 i could be looking at getting others and putting them back on the road

be nice to know that there will be a few more 604's travelling the roads in this country

We love our french cars - dad hordes them, regardless of if they drive . I recall him saying the other day that a good 604 would do him as a company car instead of a 406 that he's looking at, which has to be saying something . Looking forward to hearing more about them in the near future, cheers pugrambo.

re my post in the For Sale section 25/8/2004

    "For AF members info...
Amongst a graveyard old old equipment at a quarry is a 604.
I dont know how rare this model is but according to a worker at the quarry the car had been 'done up' and has a V6 motor with 3 carbies. (I dont know if this was standard fare.) The car has been T boned on the drivers side.
Quarry is called NEWLINE and is situated new airport suburb of Pialligo.
Call me if you have trub getting phone nos. "

Car is probably still there. Brown in colour. and looked ok, albeit from a distance. If anyone wants me to check on this one... email me. And as I have stepped into the modern world and now have a digital camera, will get some pix...

    Hello Sean,

Just saw this, picked up a couple of things.

As far as I know we no longer have any 604 drivers left in the club, also I noticed on the post from Orestes the 604 in Tawomba, that was my old Green 79 which had lived in Hobart *well dover* for quite a few years before Dennis Barber borrowed it and took it away!

    Cheers

    some pics would be good

be interesting to see what is left of it albeit a little too far away but then again it could be used to save another straight 604 if it is too badly bent

    Icon8 Trying to save a 604

    Hi All

On my recent trip to Melbourne, a kangaroo decided that it would rather be knocked about by my 604 rather than the semi-trailer which was in the lane next to me

I'm looking for a (preferably white) RH front mudguard and a front bumper. In case there are differences between series 1 and 2, my 604 is a series 2. Oh! and the lower sill panel - below the front bumper.

Thanks in advance for any replies

i can help with a lower panel and maybe a bumper

i'll have a look through my parts and see what bumpers i have but i definately have a lower panel out there

it will need to be painted white as it is blue but seeing as they are rippled and never really ever looked at hard you could paint it yourself

one thing we did with the 604 that my mother had (sister car to yours) was that we painted the lower panel as it wasn't painted when we bought the car and it was only noticed when it was parked in the garage one day and the garage was at a higher level from where we were standing and we noticed it

a bit of white paint and a paint brush and it was done and to the day we sold the car it was still the same and had never been touched nor had anyone ever picked that it was hand painted due to the ripple finish on the panel

Excellent! Thanks Pugrambo, it would really help me out. Any more than 4 up to 12 would also be useful but I'd be happy with 4. Let me know how much you want for them and what you est postage would cost or their weight and I will get a quote for postage.
