    Default GTi 180 oil sensor

This may have been gone over already but here goes.
I was getting the oil level too high warning on startup in my brand new Gti 180 so I checked the dipstick and the level was alright took it into the dealership and got them to check it out and they told me th level was fine and that they've had a lot of complaints with the oil sensor as it's very tempremental and is only a guide and nothing can be done about it Anyone else had this problem

I don't trust the oil sensor cos it always comes up with varying results. It's best to check your oil levels once a week when the engine is cold.

Seems a bit strange having a sensor that is not even close to accurate That is just crap technology that should never have been put in there in the first place. If it doesn't work when the car's brand new it's never going to work.

my 405 has one too, it's not accuarate which is why i use the dipstick, but although it's not %100 accurate, it's roughly in the vacinity.
with mine i have to turn the key on & off a few times to make the needle check the level, sometimes the first turn gives a wrong reading, then the next time gives a closer one.

Who says I'm going to refuse your offer?
I could live under your house and only come out at night.
