Next month, Peugeot will present at the Paris Motorshow its most AMAZING and powerful concept-car since 1988(remember the 600hp V6 turbo Oxia concept)!!

    Its name code: 907
Engine: 500hp V12(in fact two "sticked" gasoline V6)

Now, the pictures of the beast

    I like it!

Looks like a cross between a 407 and a Mercedes McLaren SLR.

    Can I have one?
Murray : And there are flames coming from the back of Prost's car as he enters the swimming pool!
James Hunt: Well that should put them out then!

It looks a lot like Z series bmw concecpt would be, only better, except for the open nose that it could do without, im not sure about the hatch back either. This could be the first expensive pug that sells in large numbers though. All in all i like it

Good from some angles, grotesque from others.

    BRING BACK PININFARINA!

Also, of what relevance is a 500+ HP monster car these days? Really?

In any case, it won't be produced, because Peugeot hasn't the intestinal fortitude to do so. Dodge did the Viper and it is a success, but the House of Peugeot is run by shrinking violets

There are numerous 500+ hp cars now. Mercedes AMG models have had 500hp and 500 lb ft of torque in recent times. The new BMW M5 (5L V10) has about 500hp as well.

Nice. looks like something i could never afford in this lifetime, they should make a scaled down model, you know? like a smaller sportscar ie. integra/celica sized (no rice jokes pls )

The closest Pug to seem to have is the 406 coupe but the engine isn't exactly sporty is it? sure there's the 180 but I've love something like that in a sexy coupe body !!

Wouldn't mind if it has a decent diesel powerplant either, as peugeot are one of the frontrunners in diesel technology they should showcase it in a sexxyy sports coupe. But I'm not sure how a diesel sportscar would fare in Australia, however lookin at the recent trends it looks like diesel is becoming a lil more popular here, esp with those petrol prices :S

Looks pretty sweet - if they decide to make another Batman movie it would make a pretty good Batmobile!

They have already done this - the RC Diamonds and Spades concept cars from a year or two ago. They were two Lotus Elise sized coupes with rear mounted engines and RWD. One of them was a 4cyl petrol, the other a turbo diesel. They only ever made the two concept cars, which is a shame as they were meant to be brilliant little things.

That's what I thought as well, re the merc SLR! I'm not keen on the rear hatch part, but the rest of it looks fantastic.

There's been another Peugeot concept car which I thought looked fantastic:

Is it just me or does the last pic look remarkably like the Enzo, though this car was shown a while before the Enzo was I think.

edit: Doh! Teaches me to read posts all the way down before posting. The diamonds and spades was already mentioned.

Not quite true -- they made at least 25 for the Diester RC Cup series, according to this snippet from somewhere at http://www.peugeot.com.au:
    PEUGEOT RC TOTAL DIESTER CUP

Based on a derivative of the HDi-engined Peugeot RC Diamond concept car unveiled at the 2002 Geneva Show, the RC Cup is the main newcomer to the European circuit-racing scene in 2004. More than just a new series, the RC Cup is an innovative concept. The car itself is an astonishing Diester-HDi-DPF combination, with Diester ( a bio-fuel) accounting some 50% of the fuel mixture. The monocoque chassis is made from aluminium while power output of the 2.2 litre, central-rear located HDi engine is 175bhp. Combined with a sequential six-speed gearbox and particle filter, the weight of the car (empty) is 790kg. Its development not only shows that performance and respect for the environment are compatible, but also revealed the difficulty associated with the creation and launch of this type of product.

The 25 cars are today ready for their drivers to take their wheel for the seven-round series (based on selected rounds of FFSA's Super Series and Series weekends), as well as two non-championship excursions outside of France: Belgium (Spa) as part of the Peugeot Sport Encounters programme and in Spain (World Series, Valencia).

The RC Cup stands out as a key-in-hand formula since competitors only have to supply gloves, helmet and adrenalin!
What's more, it's not clear from these links whether the Diester Cup is the same as the RC Cup series:

I'd be pleased to accept an RC just as graciously as I would a 907, I'm sure ...
