Default 205GTi did start, then didn't

    Hey...

I just want to ask if this has happened to anyone before.

My s2 205GtTi had been sitting in the carpark at work all day for about ten hours. I start it up no problem, as I would expect. I drive it about 10km and then go inside. I come out say, twenty minutes later, turn the key and...nothing. Lights are good, fuel pump is good, but nothing from the starter, not even a click. I figure it has to be electrical and head to the fuse box. After checking all the fuses and making sure the relays are in, it starts no problem.

I've had the car for almost three years and it has never happened to me before. Is it just an issue of some parts getting old or did I really just bump something out of place on the drive?

    Cheers,
    Pete

PS. Is there a trick for the radio security code (like some part of the VIN) or do I really have to take it to a Peugeot dealer?

Wierd. I have the same problem with my 505.
When you turn the key you can hear the fuel pump and
everything else seems fine, except the starter motor doesn't engage.
I've tried replacing my battery (well, I needed a new one anyway) and
replacing various relays but that didn't solve the problem.

I find it happens any time, whether it's hot or cold, completely at random.
Can be annoying, but, I've just learned to live with it for now.

Try and locate the starter motor relay.

This may be an fter market one, as many vehicles tend to loose voltage through the ignition switch with age, and most auto elecs just wire in a relay..

These can die suddenly and without warning...

Follow the wire from the starter solenoid and see if there is a relay conected to it somewhere...

This would be my first port of call...
