From what I understand 100,000, first 50 covered by parent company, second 50 by the Australian distributor.

307 list is now reporting an unlimited warranty - interesting to see how it turns out.

The XSR prediction was correct, several weeks before the actual announcement.

Ok that's good. Citroen has 60000km, which works for people like myself who don't do a lot of kilometres, but not for those who a lot k's.

Depends on the country .. still only get 12 months on some makes in the UK apparently. Shame we don't get the lemon laws of the US.

Post is in reference to Australia though.

Sometimes I think Peugeot would be quite stuffed at times with US Lemon Laws!

I stand corrected - apparently it'll be 3 years for all Peugeot Aus models (some backdating expected - not sure what the exact cut off date is, but it's possible I'll miss out by 3-4 days ).

Pug used to have 3 year warranty if you paid an extra $500.

I paid the extra $500 on my first 206 GTI, but when the 3rd year came round, Peugeot said that they'd canned the offer and would not honour the contract as the dealer I bought the car off had lost their dealer authorization. I spend countless hours talking to the manager at Peugeot customer service, but no joy.

Since then, I just don't trust anything to do with their warranty.

No I don't really miss out that close ... but imagine you bought a car 1 year ago ... should you get a backdated warrenty ? ... and now have 2 years left and not 1 ? What if you bought a car on the 31st July ? .. I guess there has to be a cut off date, some people will win, some will lose.

    Default Grrr

I called up dealer to find out when this would be effective by and if any backdating would be done for recent purchases....

Was advised that 3 yr warranty starts for car purchased in september 2004...

I got my car in April and asked if it would be backdated to then as the car is still 5 months old (recent enough i hope )

Answer "No" its head office's call, and he quietly suggested giving them a call

Ive been heaps busy lately but
My question is has anyone tried this?
    What outcomes/excuses have been reached...?

Id like the peace of mind for the extra warranty

Am i clutching at straws here trying to get the extra warranty??

The service book and handbook still refer to 2 year warranty but apparently Peugeot will send out a letter to new owners advising that it is now 3 year /100,000 km warranty (that's what the www.peugeot.com.au website and sales people state anyway).
Believe it's for new cars bought in September 2004 onwards.

The extended warranty where you pay extra for another year is no longer available. Since it was previously 2 years plus 1 year extended, now they've just made it 3 years and done away with paying for any extra time.

If you want extended warranty, they can do it, but it would be after market and not really a Peugeot product.

Pug offered an extended 2 year warranty with the 306 for a total warranty period of 4 years. We bought it through the Brisbane dealer who forgot to register it and when we went to get the gearbox replaced we spent more time sorting out the warranty issues than it took to get the car fixed as Peugeot refused to do anything until they established who was going to pay … despite the stuff up being their fault in the first place . They did eventually honor it though, but it cost me more in time than a new gearbox would have so the extended warranty wasn’t worth it!
