    Default 405 Mi16 air duct?

I'm afraid there are going to be a few of these questions from me as I familiarise myself with my new toy...don't worry, I've got a Haynes lined up and will pick up one of Sean's CD sets soon!

My car's missing a black plastic duct that I've seen in pics (I can't remember if the 'live' Mi's I've seen had them - no photographic memory!) which goes from the grille, in line with the distributor, back towards the dizzy somewhere. What's this for, and is it critical to cool something?

Also, has anyone got a complete original air filter housing they want to sell? This car has a K&N pod filter which I'm not a fan of (unless I can notice the difference).

    Cheers, and thanks again...

Yeah you need to get one and get it fitted. I actually find my engine sounds more boomy and breathless if I take it off.

Yeah, I have mine off at the moment, just during winter to give me an awesome induction sounds but I'm going to put it back on soon as its responsible for allowing cooler air to flow into the airbox. Not sure if you would use it with a pod but fits perfectly into a std airbox.

    cheers
