    Default 505- carbon filter?

    Hey guys It's been a while since I hung out on this forum, but playing around the pug more, since I'm no longer a student

    Just want to make sure what this is, as it's not covered in the Haynes Manual

    yeah carbon filter i think iam not sure. (has something to do with petrol tank gases? )

    my 505 has a really bad petrol smell in the boot or when u drive with only the front windows down any ideas ?

    Yep carbon filter, forgotten what its connected to......

    Did know, when I pulled apart my old car but cannot remember now . Excess fuel vapour sounds about right...

    Must be getting old and forgetfull at 22??

    cheers guys, any idea how much a replacemt would cost? As mine's hollow, like all the carbon must have fallen out. I was thinking though of going to an aquarium store and buying some activated carbon, and putting it into the filter, put lining the bottom of the cannister with something to stop the carbon falling out again.

    I'll give the latter a try if the former is too expensive

    That's the student way
