Default Rim offset / exhaust question

hey lads, well I've read 206gti.net and they've said the offset for the 206 is 25 however I've looked at rims today they mostly aseem to be 35, but 206gti.net has said "that means the offset cannot be any more than 10mm different per wheel than standard."

Hmm this means I can put rims which have 35mm offset on? anyone can shed some light on this? do you guys think it'd be safe to be put rims with a different offset to the one suggested? I've read elsewhere where they stated the offset of the 206 gti is 28, this would make it comfortably < 10mm different per wheel.

Also another question saves me starting a new post how big should the piping for a 206Gti exhaust be? I saw some 2nd hand backboxes i'm wonderin' does it have to be specifically made for the car model or can you univeraally fit any as long as it's the same size?

i dont know much about the 206 wheel/offset arangment. although if it is like most cars and you can extend out to 35mm as you say... your guards will need to be rolled to accomodate the rims offset.

Won't more offset push the wheel further in, not out?

Yes more ET offset will set the wheels inward. Remember the mounting point is offset 25mm toward the outside, bringing the wheel further inward when mated to the hub
