    Default 504 Door trims....

    Hi guys,

I need to remove the door trims on my 1975 504. A: because they are ripped and the board under it, is falling to peices. B: because the left side drivers door does not open anymore (anyone know whats gone wrong, the handle will pull up and the lock will turn with the key but wont stay unlocked and the door just simply wont open). But my real question is, what is there in the way of replacements? anyone got any ideas?

    Cheers,
    James.

Which is the "left side driver's door" ??

I had a problem like this a while back. Do a search and you should find it.

I guess that since your car is a 1975 model, it would have lift-up door handles, as opposed to push-button... Lift the handle, and squirt plenty of WD40 or similar through the small square cut-out that you'll see. Then wriggle the lock button up and down, hopefully it should all come good. This happened to mine. When Dr. Doorhandle arrived, the door just opened, in spite of all my efforts beforehand.

    Good luck.

The door Trims are fairly easy to take off. Three screws hold the Arm rest on, one that holds the silver protector thingy where the inner handle. And unscrew the unlocking tab.

Door trims are hard to find. I have been looking for the past 5 years, never found one that are in good nic that people want to part with.

Definately go mad with the wd40. Just make sure that you work out why its not opening after you get it open and then lube it up with grease.
