Default 504 clutch engaging close to floor

My brother's 504 again... (wish he would post this himself!)

The clutch engages too close to the floor, and the pedal needs to be pushed right in to avoid crunching into reverse. What might cause this? I believe these clutches can't be adjust..?

    Thanks

    John

I have the exact same problem. I think that its my clutch master. I am also looking at replaceing the fexiable hose, as this might be flexing???

Mine has been this way for at least a year.

Is there a dead spot for about the first 1/3 to 2/3rds of travel in the pedal?

    John,

That's a bad sign. It usually means that there is air in the system and maybe that the master or slave cylinder is almost worn out.

Have a look at my last recommendation on how to bleed clutches... this is your problem for sure.
