    Default WA Dealership update

Some time ago there was a post talking about Froggy dealers in WA & there was mention of another Pug dealer in Perth, which is much needed as Renault & Citroen already have 2. I have just recieved this reply from Peugeot Australia & it aint looking good!

    "Dear Justin

Thank you for your enquiry via our website www.peugeot.com.au

At this point in time there is only one Dealership in the Perth area. To
answer your question, we do not expect there to be another Peugeot
    Dealership in Perth anytime soon.

    Regards

    Peugeot Customer Assistance"

Thats a real shame as Peugeot should be doing a LOT better here, guess we will just have to wait

From what I understand, "negotiations" are stalling. It's still being planned, location is an issue, as Sime-Darby want to capture the largest WA market possible (and this potential new dealer needs to appeal to various market segments - which currently they don't).

It would be great to at least have an alternative.

PS: seen the new VW and Subaru dealer showrooms on Osborne Park yet ?

Yeah that dealership is quite nice. It should upset old Skippers. John was whingeing a little while ago that WA wasnt big enough for 2 VW dealers. Scoff, scoff!! I am really impressed with Renaults dealers here as well & they must be working because I am seeing more & more on the roads. I suppose the problem with Peugeot is that Allpikes is so centrally located. They are probably tossing over whether to go North or South. Osborne Park would be too close to Allpikes, I always thought Melville would be a good spot. As far as Citroen goes, Southerns should have its Cit sign out the front soon which will make it stand out a lot more. Whatever happens, there are going to be a lot more Frogs on the road soon!

Yeah I would a say that a new Peugeot dealership south of the river would be more appropriate. In any case Allpikes will be moving the Osborne Park in the near future anyway.

Have they decided on that have they? I thought because John owned the land that he was intent on staying there? My understanding is that because of re-zoning, any car yards closing down around there cannot continue as car yards whenever they are sold or change hands. Will Allpikes become a new cafe/restaurant? Osbourne Park would be a perfect spot though, I will miss being able to have a look at the Pugs & Cits whilst having a coffee though

Apparently they are moving to where the old fire station is on the corner of Main Street and Scarborough Beach Road.

Apart from the lack of space, I like where Allpikes is, since I drive past them on the way to and from work. Hopefully the new place will have more parking space.
