    Default Peugot 405SRi Mileage

New to forum. I'm considering buying a 95 405 SRi with 200k on the clock. I have never owned a Peugot and am a little concerned this mileage may be on the high side. What kind of mileage can one reasonably expect to get out of a 405 before it needs major work.Advise appreciated.

I have the same car. I bought mine at 90k it now has 185k. The motor is as new, albeit a very tiny oil leak from rear of timing cover area. It use negligible oil. I service it regularly myself and used synthethic oil till recently and now use semi synthetic. I envisage that it has the same number of K's left in it. My main problems have been cooling system probs. The heater core is a common problem ( and A day's work to get the fascia out to replace ) and I have replaced the radiator.
Check service history of your prospective purchase, especially timing belt replacemnts.
    good luck Decca

You can get access to the heater core through the glovebox area. The glovebox can be removed by drilling out the rivets that hold it in. Heater core replacement should take no more than three hours this way.
