Default 2.5 Turbo Diesel from 504/505 into Land Rover

    Hi all,

I have a 1966 Series IIa Land Rover Ambulance that is in need of a bit more than the 70 horsepower it has stock. We are planning on using it as a motor home for long expeditions from our home in Vancouver to Central America, for example.

Was wondering if anyone has horsepower and torque specs for the Peugeot 2.5 TD as there is a conversion kit available to fit this engine in the 109. Or, have you done it?

Any help, or a URL that shows the specs would be appreciated.

    Intercooled version:

    102hp, 235Nm

    Non-intercooled version:

    88hp, 204Nm

As you can see, the intercooler gives it quite a bit more torque.

    Thanks, Dave.

Other than the intercooler, is there any other difference between the 2 engines? I was planning on installing an intercooler by the rad anyway.

That's a good question, to which I've not been able to find the answer. Hopefully somebody else will know.
