    206 XRS - Any1 Got one?

Correct me if I am wrong, but it is just a standard 3 Door 1.6ltr XR with this:

    - 14" Ouragan alloy wheels
    - colour coded rear deck spoiler
    - a "GTi" alloy fuel cap
    - alloy gear knob (manual version only)
    - alloy look dash insert
    - and special XRS decals

The limited edition 206 XRS is priced at $22,990* for the manual model and $24,990* for the automatic version.

    I take it it's 16Vavle.

Has any1 got one? The time is looming when I upgrade my pug, I think it will be early next year, say around february, by then my car will be 4 years old.

I would love a 206GTi 180, but most likely won't be able to afford it so my next option is to buy a normal 206GTi. I wonder if the price on a new model will be driven down slightly with the release of the 180?

Also my mates GF is buying the 3 door limited edition XRS and should have it in time to make the 14th September Sydney cruise

I would like to buy a brand new car and I would like something just a little bit quicker then my 1.6ltr. I am not against getting another make or model, but the 206 is the first car I have fallen in love with, none of my other cars were a serious relationship, we got along well and enjoyed each others company, but the sparks just weren't there as they are with my 206

    Yep, you're right.

Basically a jazzed up XR. It's the 1.6 16V engine.

As a manual, the 1.6 isn't that much slower than the 2.0 GTi, the 1.6 is a 9 point something on the 0-100km/h measure.

IMHO though, save up a little more and go for a normal GTi if you can. The trim materials are better, there's a few more toys and the engine is probably more useable than the 1.6. Even though the 1.6 apparently has at least 90% torque from 2000 all the way till 5000, it's quite rev hungry.

Plus you won't get those crappy standard 206 seats.

    Cheers,

    Justin

    Cheers

I don't like the XRS decals on the side of the car, it looks like a Japanese car with the ugly bright cheap looking decal.

Don't know but the "GTi" alloy fuel cap is an example of rice (in some peoples opinion) - it's not rice on the GTi cause it's standard ... anyway the GTi one is a solid metal piece, many of the others are a clip on accessory.

I like the look of the GTi fuel cap on any 206.

But the ugly pink sticker on the side saying XRS looks ugly ugly ugly.

As a proud owner of one of those 'riced' genuine Peugeot GTi fuel caps :-) , I can say that it is not just a clip-on accessory. All that is retained from the original plastic fuel cap is the actual key locking mechanism. You detach that from the plastic cover, and then slot it into the GTi alloy one. The GTi cover doesn't clip on over the top of the plastic cover or anything like that.
