    Default 206 differences

In terms of front panels and parts, are the parts listed common between 206, 206cc and 206 gti or are there differences for the first gen 206 shape; and any differences between auto and manuals in that respect (I understand they have different engines)?:

Bumpers differ between gti/cc (gti and cc are the same although some have chrome on the lower grille) and the standard. Some standard ones don't have fog lights some do.

Cc and gti have flared front guards standard dont.

    Bonnets are all the same.

Early cc and gti headlights are the same as all 2003 and on. Early normal ones have different headlights.

Radiators differ manual and auto. And some have clip on hoses some clamp on.

All painted grills are the same

The fan and radiator support panel in not sure on. I think they're different depending on model. We'd get vin numbers to confirm that.

Cav, aren't the grilles different from 2003 on? Mine has a honeycomb pattern in the grille plastic and the early ones don't have that.

Do you mean in the bumper grille? They may be a difference I wasn't aware of there. Does yours have the chrome mould along the bottom of the grille?

Stuey, yours maybe the facelifted model with the grille part lower down in the bumper?

Ok, so bonnet and grill compatible so far, but not necessarily headlights, guards or bumpers.

Anyone else know the compatibility of radiators, support panels and associated plastics?

Also anyone in Sydney wrecking a 206?

The 206XR 3 door cars don't have headlights in the front grille - that is certainly true of the early cars up until around 2004. I think there are some differences between the modern fenders on the various models but I'm not sure.

I found a pic on the net. The honeycomb type came in an update in 2003. I think this was at the same time the rear lion badge was shifted to the body (formerly on the hatch handle).

The one I’m looking at is an 03 XR 5dr Auto I think.

Might "Carsales.com" photos clear it up?

Probably not Rob. I’m sure it’s a 5dr, and I’m sure it’s an Auto. Only thing I’m not sure of is the XR bit and radiator/fan/shroud compatibility between models.

The “update” was in late 2003 here, so locally you’d have to look for a build date (not compliance date) of June 2003 for the refresh.

I think the original low-spec trims had glass headlights, whereas the GTi always had polycarbonate ones.

Front bumpers yes, no fog lights on low spec ones and a slightly different shape.

It would probably be easier to panel/bumper match using a VIN search on servicebox.

I have bought a 2003 206 3 door hatch automatic as a second car but I haven't registered it yet. It is aegis blue with alloy wheels and has a few dents in both fenders and a bas scratch on the passenger door. Otherwise it is pretty good. It has the 16 valve 1.6 litre engine. It has the peugeot emblem on the hatch handle and the Peugeot front lion on the grille area in a small chromed oblong. It doesn't have the later grille. It is I guess an early 2003 model.
