    Default Peugeot 207 Aux tensioner

I have a Pug 207 1.4 16v (ET3?) and need to replace the alternator belt.

I have seen various tensioner tools available on the internet, but it isn't completely obvious how these are used on my particular car.

Some have an 8mm square drive on the end..but my tensioner doesn't appear to have a hole for this. The mini seems to have a big metal forked tool which goes around the whole tensioner. Others seem to come with a set of open ended spanner heads or slim sockets. What are these meant to go on? The bolt in the middle of the plastic pulley?

Can anyone explain what sort of tool I need and exactly how it attaches to the tensioner, please?

    Many thanks!

Confusingly, there are two petrol 1.4 16V engines that were fitted to the 207:

    • ET3 (three-digit KFU code in the VIN somewhere), 90bhp
    • EP3 (three-digit 8FS code in the VIN somewhere), 95bhp

    Does this help at all?
    Regards,

    Simon
