Default 207 1.6 vti cold pulsing

    Hi All, I have a 2008 207 with the 1.6 vti engine, 107000km.
It has an odd characteristic on cold starting that when put into gear (automatic) that the engine pulsates quite loudly and the revs hunt up and down a little.
It only does this on cold start and goes away as soon as using some throttle.
Also, if I leave it to idle for a short time, 20 seconds, it does not do this at all.
Being the wives daily driver, that advise seems to not be taken heed of and I hear it do this from inside the house!
The plugs are only new as of Oct 2016 and have done no more than 20k km, Bosch brand from Peugeot dealer.
I cant recall when this started but it has been quite some months and not got any worse, just annoying.
As I say it is manageable by allowing the car to warm even just a short time.
    Appreciate any ideas.
    Stephen.

IMHO putting the car in gear immediately when cold is considered torture.
And usually the AL4 doesn't like this and starts giving gearbox faulty messages.

Yes, fully agree, we have corrected the habit of rapid starts and it is much better.
Just concerned if this is a symptom of worse things to come.
There must be thousands of daily driver 207's that crank, start, into gear and go.
They also must have this issue?
I was wondering if it may be engine related, like the electronic throttle control, but it actually make sense that the load from the auto could be the issue.
No error messages on the screen either by the way.
    Thanks
    Stephen.
