You could try EAI at Thornleigh for the converter. If they have one it is a courier away. Changing it isn't complex, but if you want a mechanic recommendation it would help to know where you are.

You could get a muffler shop to weld in a new one. I had an exhaust built for the 206 with a higher flow cat. They added ports for the two oxygen sensors same as stock, and it didn't cause any issues.

I would have thought an exhaust place would be able to help.

Failing that, the part number (item 10 in pic) is 1706F6 or 9682490780. You should probably order a new gasket (item 12) as well.

It's a part used on many similar models with that engine (not sure about the R56 Mini, though).

Look on eBay or try ATwins, DAPCO or ASV, if EAI are no help.

It's possible to get one from a wreck but a new one from O/S may end up just as cheap

In Melbourne, and not very much (<$400 maybe?). It was a few years ago.
My more recent exhaust, full stainless custom tig welded job front to back was $1200 (no cat though).

Would anyone know the meaning of " and age > 3 " ?
I heard that it's a cheaper part but still original, is this correct ?

    Hi
I would also suggest trying any muffler fitter. I tried to buy a cat for a 2002 Golf. Auto parts shop had to ring around to locate a supplier and was quoted $1200 or something like that. Tuffy Mufflers said $700 fitted and they didn't take an hour to find one. Seems they know where to get them.
