Default Given up on fast cars....

Yesterday whilst I was sitting on the side of the road with a green commodore s with blue and red flashing lights sitting to the rear of me, I decided that I i'm giving up all ties to fast and unique cars...
There not worth it, specially ones that look a little bit different to other cars...
So i'm gonna sell PWRPUG, 2nd time for it in 12 months, poor car....

I know... I know... I think i've prolly paid for a quater of the ACT budget this quarter alone in speeding fines... My fault totally, I have no one to blame but me, so im getting something a little less zippy... I kinda want it gone by the end of this week... Its shocking to see it come to this, and I feel terrible writing it down, but it will be $7000 with wheels, no stereo...

I think this car deserves to come back to melbourne. If you can send me a pm with all details of the car it would be appreciated.

Is this the blue 405? Yep - that would get the attention of the wallopers for all the wrong reasons.... You could go to the other extreme and stick Hyundai badges on it. That way you could still enjoy driving it (you wouldn't see the badges from the drivers seat) and the coppers would be too busy laughing as you ripped past to actually give chase.... ...just a thought...

What about zippy and less flashy .... You'll miss it too much once you're tottering around in a 1.4ltr echo (or similar ilk).

You don't need to give up, you need to discover "sleeperism"

The fast car, that doesn't look fast and doesn't attract attention!

Nah my problem lies in the speed of tha car, i mean i lost my licence in a 1979 mazda 626 definately not pretty to look at, so i'm goin for something that is heavy, uses to much petrol, and really can't acclerate to shit... in other words im going for an old land rover, I may not be able to speed in it, but i will be able to get to the snow in it

A mate of mine a few years back was booked for speeding driving a series3 diesel GOLF of all things - all 45 thumping horsepower of it. He was actually quite proud of it and showed the ticket off to everyone - trouble was the car belonged to my girlfriend at the time and she wasn't so impressed....

Yeah the woes of speeding hehehe I have had a share of speeding fines over the last 5 years (4 of them) one was for doing 68 in a 60 zone, so lame... but another was for doing a far greater speed and lost my lisense as a result. Which has just made me wonder something... Do cops frequent this forum? I think they frequent some other aussie car forums that are full of ricers and ppl who actually organise meets (more a street race) over the forum. but maybe they think french cars and think ? hopefully

Although once when I was pulled over doing a bit of a speed on the freeway one night, the cop said... "Yeah mate these 206's really move, I persued one the other day...he won't be driving for a while...so slow down mate..." He seemed to know all about them. Which makes me wonder, any french car enthusiat cops out there? don't be shy I have nothing against cops.

I think Troy preferred the way it looked without the wing.
Interior is pretty much standard, no cage.
Got it at home but it's not cams approved.

Yeah I know that "Feugo Perhaps" is a Victorian cop. I live in NSW so the chances of him chasing me here are slim Infact now that my ways have been reformed, the chances of a NSW cop chasing me are slim I hope hehe

I know a NSW cop anyway, he's on the beat catching criminals most of the time. Rarely gets into a HWY Persuit car, will sometimes assist in RBT's but thats it.

Some of the so called 'detective' work he does is stuff like browsing various internet forums and newsgroups to gather intel'. It just wouldn't surprise me if cops browsed these forums on a regular basis to find out when our next meet is. Not that this forum is an issue, but other aussie car forums where they are stupid enough to organise street races (with some codename that the cops would be clued onto) and even brag about who lost, who won, etc... on the forum. If I was a cop I would be greatful that a forum such as this promoting relatively safe and responsible driving exsists

I once drove a Holden Sunbird (4-cyl Torana, 1979 model) to Melbourne and back. Overnight each way, of course...

I got booked once in each direction. Both times for doing 100mph... the only times I have ever been booked for doing anything like that speed.

Nobody believed a Sunbird would do it. Of course...
