Default New owner - GTI servicing in Sydney?

    Hi All,

New to the forum and Peugeot's. Just got a really nice red 1.9 GTI with a low 137k mileage and am loving it, I have wanted one for a very very long time.....

I am planning on getting some work done on it over the next few months ( starting with a new clutch, any ideas how much that will be? - Ballpark) and am wondering where is the best place to get work done / buy parts in Sydney.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

    Welcome Dave.

Do a search for Paul Vassallo in Gladesville. Highly recommended.

The Sydney guys here all rave on about the work done by Paul Vasallo (I think I've misspelt the surname.) A forum search for the various car service threads we've had in the past should give you the correct spelling, and just as importantly, the name of the place where he works

    hi dave,

clutch kits should cost from around $210 to 350 bucks changeover.

i had mine done by a mate mechanic for (i think) $600 but if you go to a garage expect to be quoted bw $800 and $1200.

oh yeah and welcome to AF .

    Thanks for the replies.

Allmtr, i paid $9750 for it in Sydney from a dealer, so i got a guarantee (of sorts) and i had a few bits and pieces done on the car before i picked it up.

Just spoke to Paul and he has a two month wait at the moment. I'd suggest you do a search on servicing as there are some other guys in Sydney that are good too.
