help...air in cooling system

Hi people, I've got a prob with my '95 405 1.9 td. The heater sometimes doesn't kick out hot air. Now, I've flushed the system and everything is ok with the heater matrix and all the controls are fine but most of the time it blows out lovely hot air and then, just when you need it, it will go all tepid on me. This sound like an air blockage to me but there seems to be only the 1 bleed port and thats on the top of the rad, and try as I might, all I get out of it is coolant. Ther must be a knack to this so any help would be appreciated. Cheers

Probably more to do with the climate control servo motor controlling the hot air flap as the heater runs constantly with the temp being controlled by the flap.

do you ever hear a little clicking noise over on the passenger side of the car ?

I occassionally have the same problem, and I do occassionally get that clicking noise on the passenger side. What does it mean, 'rambo?

it means what alan was talking about is on it's way out

the parts are about $400 from what i have heard to do the job

the clicking should go away if you have it on recirc

my climate in the R25 does this too - it will work great somedays, but others will be dead cold on all setting except full bore at which the motors churns away and roasts my feet. Something to do with the sensors im guessing.

For replacing that motor that goes, I have written up a cheat sheet for replacing it with a vacuam diaphragm as used by Fuegos and 505s for opening flaps. I did this mod to my R21. If you want, I can email it to you. It cost me 8 bucks in parts to do :D

dunno - how would I do it (its just a word doc)?
Its for the type of motors that just move a flap open or shut - no good for the type that vary the degree to which a flap may be open

you can attach it in the same way through the manage attachments option as i have done a few times

my old has the same problem in his car so it would be interesting to see what you did as he really doesn't feel like forking out $3-400 for something that really doesn't stop the car from going but if he can flick it around so that he can open and close the flap he would be happy

at the moment he leaves it on recirc so that it doesn't keep clicking

this was written for a phase 2 R21. You will have to check how Peugeot arrange the power supply, but you get the idea ;)
